Monograms are motifs that contain initial letters, i.e. the initials of an individual or organization made by combining, overlapping, or merging two or more letters.

For the first time, they were used about 350. In other news, The Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in 2007 was the first to arrive at the end of 2007 BC. Today, they are widely used in design and logos and this is one example.

I did this logo for Srdjan Mijajlovic, a photographer who needed a website.

I quickly designed it, because I immediately had the idea to connect rounded forms, i.e. to repeat them and rotate them in curves at the letters S and M.

In the end, all we had to do was decide on the finish, whether to outline the overlap of forms, whether to leave the contours and how to solve the edges of the letters. No matter how interesting it is to play and develop shapes because I never know how far it will take me, I always go back to the classic simple solution. I think it’s the most elegant and effective.
